For those who are new to the escape rooms, there is a fair amount that they will want to learn first, to prepare themselves for their initial experience.
The escape room game consists of going to a location that has been set up to offer different challenges and tasks to be worked through to see who can master the goal. It is usually played in teams, so those who want to participate will usually get a group together.
Choosing the Theme
Being as there are so many escape rooms available with different themes, for those who are first starting out, they want may want to choose a topic they are familiar with. This is because the game challenges will be based on that theme and players are more comfortable with something that they know about.
When arriving at the escape room location, there will be a game master, and the instructions are given as to how the game is played. The group will work as a team to solve the puzzles that will be presented in the rooms in different ways. It can be done by hints on a video or a note in whatever way the game has been designed.
The Time Limit
Players only have a certain amount of time to be able to work themselves through the room with the challenges that are there. They will be notified each time they have beaten a challenge. Usually, the time spent is one hour, and if they have not beaten the challenge, then they will be told as such and that the game is completed.
Some escape rooms keep leader boards, as this is a repeat type of business and teams often go back several times over to try different versions of the game based on that particular theme.
